THE DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS

What an incredible weekend Krista and I had! We're still on Cloud 9! Thats me on the left of the page and Krista is on the right

We were totally captivated by Tony. There just aren't enough adjectives to describe how wonderful he is. I guess I should start at the beginning, so I don't forget anything. Friday afternoon, we went to the Kodak Theater in Hollywood to watch the stars arrive for the Emmys. We went early and they had a big screen set up and we were able to watch the rehearsal for the Emmy broadcast.

It was fun to see Kelly Monaco who came outside in her rollers, without any make-up on yet.She seemed very relaxed, as did Cameron Matheson.

We got to see all of the actors' videos early and of course we were most excited over seeing Tony's tour of Amsterdam. There was more of it than what aired on the Emmys. Hopefully, ABC or Soap Net will show the rest sometime.

Before long, the glamorous soap stars were walking down the red carpet. We found a spot on an upper level where we had a good view and were excited to see Julie Berman looking lovely and elegant in a long gown.

We watched her talking to the press for a long time. Too bad she was unaware that her TV Dad had arrived. Krista and I didn't expect to see Tony on the red carpet, because we heard he usually comes at the last minute when the Emmys are in NY, so you can imagine how thrilled we were when we spotted him. We couldn't take our eyes off of him-- he's so handsome and has such a presence! .

Most of the press (like Soap Net's Pre-Show) didn't seem to know he was there. He didn't seem to have a PR person with him like a lot of stars. He seemed very relaxed and happy and we saw him shaking hands with some fans and some actors like Jack Wagner and David Canary. .

He also waved to fans and took photos and you could tell how well-loved and revered he is by all. He was with his nephew and at one point after greeting a lot of people, he had to look around to find his nephew and you could tell he was relieved to see him still standing nearby.

We saw lots of other stars like Susan Lucci, Kim Zimmer and Jackie Zeman and Finola Hughes (pictured here after they excitedly ran to each other). Nothing compared to the thrill of seeing Tony though! When all the stars were inside, we decided we might as well stay and watch the 3 hour Emmy show on the big screen. We weren't in the Fan Zone, but were standing behind it on an upper level...

First onstage in the Fan Zone was Rick Springfield. It was really exciting watching him and we got caught up in the moment, singing along like everyone else.

We were thrilled to see Tony win his 5th Emmy and afterwards, he excitedly came
out to the Fan Zone.
He was shaking hands with fans and looked like he wanted to stay outside, but I guess they had to keep things moving and soon took him back inside. (It only took a minute to get from the outside stage to the Kodak Theater.)

We couldn't stop thinking how gorgeous he looked and how we'd be seeing him again Saturday Night! Even though we had already been on our feet over 7 hours, we stayed awhile longer to see some of the stars going up an escalator to a party. Didn't see Tony there, but we saw Emma Samms, Tristan Rogers and Sharon Wyatt, all looking fantastic. I think we spent all day Saturday talking about our Emmy experience and soon it was time to go to Tony's event.
